Yongwan Chun is an assistant professor of geospatial information science at The University of Texas at Dallas. He earned a PhD in geography and a master's degree in statistics from The Ohio State University. His research aims at developing quantitative methods for spatial analysis and modeling. Particularly, his research interests lie in spatial statistics and GIS focusing on urban and economic issues including population migration, commuting, and urban crime. His papers have been published in Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Cartography and Geographic Information Science, Geographical Analysis, Journal of Geographical Systems, and Journal of Urban Affairs among others.
