Eric Zheng


Zhiqiang (Eric) Zheng, professor in the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management at the Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. He has a minor joint appointment with the Finance Department for which he teaches a class on Big Data Financial Analytics . Prior to joining UTD in Fall 2006, he was an assistant professor in the Business School at the University of California at Riverside from 2003 to 2006.

He received his Ph.D. in information systems from the Department of Operations and Information Management at the Wharton School in 2003. Previously he received a M.A. from the Wharton school in Operations and Information Management and a M.S. from the Shanghai Jiaotong University in Industrial Management Engineering. His B.S. is in Management Information Systems from Harbin Institute of technology.

His current research interests focuses on Business Analytics (healthcare analytics, social media analytics and financial analytics). He serves (has served) on the editorial board of Information Systems Research , Informs Journal on Computing , Information Technology Management , Journal of E-commerce Research and Journal of Management Analytics as an AE. He also served as an associate editor for the special on big data at MIS Quarterly and a senior editor for a sepecial issue on the IS and OM interface at Production and Operations Management.
