Corporate Challenge 2016
Get in the Game!
Registration for the 2016 Richardson Corporate Challenge is open, and a schedule of events and sign-up sheet are available online. The Challenge begins August 12, with events through October 13. All benefits-eligible employees and their spouses can participate.
In an effort to increase our support of Special Olympics Texas, participants are asked to contribute a minimum $5 per T-shirt. Payment can be made in person at the Office of Administration (AD 2.410), or online through the UT Dallas Corporate Challenge donation page. For the online option, select the “Support UT Dallas” link in the top center of the page, and list your name rather than “anonymous” so your T-shirt payment can be recorded. One-time donations also can be made through the same link. All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Texas.
Ride the Comet Cruiser to the Opening Ceremony
This year, Comet Cruiser bus service will be available to and from the Opening Ceremony on Friday, August 12. The bus will depart the UT Dallas traffic circle at 5:15 p.m. for the event. Return service will depart from Galatyn Park in front of the Renaissance Hotel at 6:40, 7:20 and 8:00 p.m. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org if you plan to ride.
The Opening Ceremony and the Great Walk will begin at 5:30 p.m. Join us for a celebratory tailgate at the UT Dallas tent (tent #48; see map), meet our Special Olympian, Justin Hoover, and help our team earn participation points in the Great Walk. Food and refreshments will be provided, and family and friends are welcome. This is also an opportunity for UT Dallas to earn participation points in the Great Walk. Anyone can participate in this event. We need at least 175 UT Dallas representatives to complete the short walk through the shaded Galatyn Woodland Preserve by 7:00 p.m. in order to earn the maximum of 30 points. The event is come-and-go, but if you would like to walk as a group, we will meet at the UT Dallas tent at 5:45 p.m. Just make sure you pick up a token at the start tent and drop it off at the mid-point check-in tent to earn points for the UT Dallas team.
Sign Up for the Great Ride
Register online today for the Great Ride. This year’s group motor cycle ride will last approximately two hours and will start and end at Galatyn Plaza. The event is open to anyone who would like to participate; just be sure to select UT Dallas during registration to help us earn team participation points. There is a minimum donation of $20 per rider, and $10 per passenger to benefit Special Olympics Texas. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants.
Corporate Challenge raffle tickets are available for $5. Each ticket buys you a chance to win one of three pairs of roundtrip airline tickets with hotels stays. All donations benefit Special Olympics Texas. Purchase tickets at the Office of Administration (AD 2.410), or call 972.883.2213 for more information.
