Confucius Institute Day
Confucius Institute Day is a program initiated by the Confucius Institute Headquarters to celebrate the 10th anniversary of founding. Since the first Confucius Institute was inaugurated in Korea in 1994, the number of Confucius Institutes has grown rapidly. As of 2013, 440 Confucius Institutes and 646 Confucius Classrooms have been founded in 120 countries around the world. Of these, 144 Confucius Institutes and 384 Confucius Classrooms are in North and South America. Confucius Institute Day is to celebrate this big achievement. But more importantly, it is to better serve Chinese language and culture learners and meet their needs of learning more about and understanding China.
The Activities of Confucius Institute at UT Dallas on Confucius Institute Day include open Chinese language and culture classes, food tasting, competitions, art performances, and exhibitions. Please check our website for the current year’s Confucius Institute Day event.
