“Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition in DFW Area Successfully Held

The 2015 “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency competition in DFW Area was held at the University of Texas at Dallas on Saturday, March 28. Sponsored and organized by the Confucius Institute at UT Dallas, this competition provided a professional platform for Chinese learners in the DFW area to learn from each other. Fourteen students from local high schools participated in the secondary school student level competition and four students from UT Dallas took part in the college student level competition. Competitors with different backgrounds displayed remarkable language skills in speeches, quizzes about China and talent shows. Amanda Beeck and Dwayne Hannam were awarded the first prizes on secondary school student level and college student level respectively. Both of them will go to the next round competition “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Competition in Southern United States, which will be held on April 26 at the University of Texas at Dallas.
