Confucius Institute at UTD announces three new Confucius Classrooms at International Leadership of Texas

The Confucius Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas announced the opening of three Confucius Classrooms at International Leadership of Texas on Thursday, June 5, 2014. International Leadership of Texas is a free public charter school located in Dallas with international relationships with schools in China to facilitate the exchange of teachers and students. Confucius Institute at UTD has been supporting the Chinese program at International Leadership of Texas for years and the headquarters of Confucius Institute approved the application of three Confucius classrooms at IL Texas finally in 2013.  Dr. Dennis M. Kratz (Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities and Executive Director of Confucius Institute at UTD), Professor Zhang Qianyuan (co-director of Confucius Institute at UTD from China), Ms. Sharon Yang (assistant director of Confucius Institute at UTD) and Ms. Wang Cheng (Chinese teacher at Confucius Institute at UTD) participated in the opening ceremony at Garland school of IL Texas, accompanied by Chief Academic Officer Dr. Laura Carrasco. The three Confucius classrooms are at Arlington elementary, Garland elementary and Garland High school.
