Associate Director of Confucius Institute at UTD Lectures on Chinese Arts in HEB ISD STARTALK Summer Camp

On June 18th, 2014, Dr. Qianyuan Zhang, associate director of Confucius Institute at UTD was invited by HEB ISD (Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District) to present lectures on Chinese painting, calligraphy and martial arts in its STARTALK summer camp held in Central Junior High School.

During the whole day’s activities, Dr. Zhang taught the students calligraphy, painting, and martial arts. Students were thrilled by Dr. Zhang’s skills and talents in different categories. They hope Dr. Zhang can visit and teach them again in the future.

Dr. Zhang is a distinguished art professor from the School of Arts at Southeast University, China. His paintings have been collected by Tiananmen Rostrum in Beijing and the State Council of China. He held more than 20 exhibitions in many countries including Sweden, Finland, Turkey, Russia and the United States. Dr. Zhang is also a Chinese martial arts professional who worked as a Kung-fu coach in Istanbul, Turkey.
