Spring 2020 - Undergraduate Course Descriptions
Description of Course:
Advanced Drawing (3 semester credit hours) This course explores the traditional and nontraditional concepts and techniques of drawing with the intent to encourage a personal vision in the medium. Lectures discuss past and contemporary artistic practices and provide research for innovative drawing as a means of communication, expression, installation and unique conceptual form. After an introductory period in which drawing practices are examined, defined, questioned and practiced, students will create a project proposal for a series of works that will occupy the remainder of the course. This proposition and the resulting drawings, will be based upon the discoveries made through their initial research, reading and studio work.
