Spring 2020 - Undergraduate Course Descriptions
Description of Course:
This course involves an investigation of the photographic process and an examination of the various levels on which meaning is constructed, including selection of subject matter, concern for aesthetics, and socio-cultural context. Instruction in camera techniques will emphasize 35mm film photography as well as processes involving film scanning and digital printing. Darkroom practice will emphasize traditional film developing and printing methods, and students will be required to provide their own 35mm SLR camera.

Each student must provide their own automatic (with manual override) or manual 35mm film camera. Costs for the course will vary depending upon the scope of individual student projects. Supplies estimate: $150.00

Prerequisite: ARTS 1316 or ARTS 2316 or ARTS 2350 or ARTS 2380 or ATEC 2382 or consent of instructor.
