Description of Course:
Seminal events in the twentieth-century, World War II and the Holocaust punctuated the violence of the epoch with acts of racism, destruction, annihilation, and atrocities that lay beyond our modern imagination. Thus, this course analyzes the geopolitical landscape of twentieth-century Europe, Japan, and the United States and the issues which ultimately led to war. In addition, it examines the brutalities committed against civilians and POW’s by members of the Axis and their collaborators in an effort to understand the barbarism which came underscore the violence of the age.
