Spring 2012 - Undergraduate Course Descriptions
Description of Course:
This course is appropriate for aspiring actors (beginning through advanced), directors, writers, film and video makers, as well as anyone who would like to explore the challenges and fun of acting. No previous experience is required.
We will study and practice principles of acting for film and video, including freeing the voice/movement/imagination, improvisation, script analysis, building a character, creating a role, monologues, scene study, and creating original work.
This course is taught by an actor/director/writer whose theater, video, and multimedia works have received international recognition.
Scripts, books and articles on acting to be announced.
Course Requirements/Evaluation Criteria:
Weekly acting projects (including improvisation, monologues, scenes, a final project), participation in class exercises and discussions, readings, attendance. Rehearsal times (outside of class) will be scheduled by the actors.
