Fall 2012 - Graduate Course Descriptions
Description of Course:
This creative workshop course introduces students to essential elements of dramatic writing. In-class writing exercises and weekly assignments lead to the development of character monologues, scenes, and either the draft of an original full length play or an original one-act play. A variety of stylistic approaches and thematic concerns are identified through the reading and discussion of plays by contemporary playwrights. Students will explore their individual creative voice, learning how to translate their vision through character, image, and story for the stage.
