Description of Course:
Students will acquire basic writing and analytic skills in music. Work includes assignments in harmony and composition, analysis of representative works from the literature, ear-training, singing with solfege, and keyboard harmony. Topics include part-writing, seventh chords, secondary dominants, modulation, melody harmonization, and musical forms (binary, ternary, rounded binary.)

Course Requirements/Evaluation Criteria:
Students should have taken Music Theory I (MUSI 2328) or have a thorough understanding of music fundamentals. Please email any questions to the instructor. Textbooks are available in the campus bookstore and off-campus bookstore. Online orders should be made before the first week of class to avoid shipment delays. Beware of used books with missing or marked-on pages.
