Acting I

Description of Course:

Acting 1 (3 semester credit hours) The purpose of this course is to provide the student with a working knowledge of the fundamentals of the actor's craft, and will specifically concentrate on the tools of the actor: Body, Voice, and Mind. This will include exercises in the Alexander movement technique, Edith Skinner voice technique, and an intro to Stanislavski's approach to acting. The course is designed for anyone interested in developing imagination, concentration, sensory awareness, self-knowledge, trust and freedom, and seeks to teach the beginning acting student skills useful on the stage and in life.
