Course Title
Intermediate Spanish I

Description of Course:

Intermediate Spanish I builds on Beginning Spanish I and II, both in the classroom and online, introducing learners to more advanced vocabulary and structures, while at the same time reinforcing language acquired in 1311 and 1312. The text utilizes a communicative, content-based approach, incorporates culture, and introduces students to authentic language material through use of state-of-the-art online technology that create a 24/7 active language-in-culture environment.

Prerequisite: Spanish 1312 at UTD, equivalent credit from another college or university, appropriate AP or CLEP score.

All students, regardless of their background or previous language experience, must take the online placement exam located here:*


Students must enroll in the course that corresponds to their score, provide their score to advisers to enroll in that course, and bring them the first day of class.

*Exceptions include those who have took Spanish 1312 at UTD, are transferring credit, or have taken the AP or CLEP exam.
