Description of Course:
Production participation in the fall 2015 UTD production directed and adapted by Thomas Riccio.
This course is meant to give the student an individualized (accroding to skill and interest) hands on understanding of theatre production. Think of it as an in house internship.
Performance participation for actors and dancers requires an audition which will be announced.
Those students wishing to participate in the course as a technician or in another production capacity should feel free to enroll and then contact the instructor to identify their course work expectations.
Other non-UTD performance projects may also be and acceptable. Fulfillment of the course requirement, however, this must be by arrangement with the instructor.
The student may fulfill the course requirements in any number of ways. Those cast as performers or serving on the creative teams of the production will determine their course requirements as in coordination with the instructor. Creative team participation may include performing, programming, design, directing, writing, or other production related activity. Creative participation is determined by interview and/or audition assessment.
Those not cast as performers or part of the creative teams are also welcome to enroll in the class and may participate in any number of ways, which might include: production assistance, performance understudies, publicity, technical assistance (set, lights, costume), front of house, or other activity suited to their ability and interests. Course Requirements/Evaluation Criteria:
Successful completion of production commitment.
