Description of Course:
Ursula LeGuin and Octavia Butler are two of Americaâ€™s foremost Science Fiction writers. In this course we will read stories by LeGuin and Butler that include human abductions to alien generation ships; a man whose dreams change reality; anthropological interplanetary study; and an amnesiac vampire who must discover her past and survive the present.
Power, transformation, and prejudice are themes that these authors explore in their texts.
