Description of Course:
This studio course explores the visual possibilities inherent in the art of the text. Â Students will learn how to define image/text (along with image-text and imagetext) and identify principle functions of image and text in the context of visual art, installation art, photography, poetry, and graphic narratives, to name a few. Application of theories of image and text to creative exploration while be emphasized. Students will gain a fundamental knowledge of artists working with image and text within the larger context of contemporary art.

Course Requirements/Evaluation Criteria:
Command of general computer skills and file management skills for a MAC or PC operating system is expected. Course requirements to be announced.
Prerequisite: A 3000-level studio art course in an appropriate medium or instructor consent required.
