Spring 2016 - Undergraduate Course Descriptions
Description of Course:
This course combines an investigation of the process of black and white photography with a study of serial imagery. Operation of the camera involves an awareness of its mechanical limitations in order to facilitate the recording of light and fosters an understanding of optics. Students will learn camera operation, darkroom techniques for film development, and digital processes involving film scanning and printing. Assigned reading and class discussion will address contemporary issues in art and photography.

Each student must provide their own automatic (with manual override) or manual 35mm film camera. Costs for the course will vary depending upon the scope of individual student projects. Supplies estimate: $150.00

Prerequisite: ARTS 1316 or ARTS 2316 or ARTS 2350 or ARTS 2380 or ATEC 2382 or consent of instructor.
