Chamber Singers I

Description of Course:

Chamber Singers is a performing ensemble of 20-24 singers. The repertoire for the ensemble will be selected from a broad range of chamber vocal literature, including both sacred and secular music spanning the Renaissance to the contemporary periods of music history and modern jazz arrangements. This semester will include choruses and ensemble numbers from choral works plus traditional Christmas music.

Students must audition and be accepted in order to enroll in Chamber Singers. Audition times will be arranged with the instructor; please email [email protected] Students who do not pass the audition should enroll in MUSI 2127, University Choir.

The course will meet twice weekly, for one and one-quarter hours per rehearsal session. Attendance is required and will affect the course grade.

MUSI 3385 may be repeated for credit (9 hours maximum).

Music will be supplied by the instructor. Students will be given a link to print out their scores.

Course Requirements/Evaluation Criteria:

The UT Dallas Chamber Singers will participate in several concerts during the semester, including the 40th Annual Holiday Sing in December.
