First Impressions

Photographer Katie Crowell explores societal conformity as it impacts women’s lives. She reflects on how women’s identities are constrained by the daily performative roles they enact.

Inspired by true accounts, Fatma Rana Şahin’s photographs explore the relationship between human beings and their natural inclination to give a definite meaning to artifacts and objects of value.



Woman Still Standing

Artist Lori Snyder embraces the series to present collaborative narratives in the form of photographic portraits. She combines image and text to communicate the individual challenges that her woman sitters have faced and overcome.
