Cuenca Duo

José Manuel and Francisco Cuenca Morales form the piano and guitar duo called Cuenca Duo.  The duo has performed internationally in prestigious auditoriums such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the National Auditorium and The Music Palace in Spain, The Hacettpe and M.E.T.U. Auditoriums in Turkey, and the Guitar Palace in Japan.  Francisco Cuenca is the director of the Andrés Segovia Professional Music Conservatory in Linares.  José Manuel is the director of the "Maria de Molina" Conservatory in Ubeda.



José Manuel studied piano and clarinet at the Superior Music Conservatory in Cordova under Teresa García Moreno, Rafael Quero and Bartolomé Conde, finishing both instruments with the "End of Studies Extraordinary Prize".

Francisco Cuenca started his guitar studies with his father, Francisco Cuenca Domínguez, and continued at the Superior Music Conservatory in Cordova with José Rodríguez and Miguel Barberá and finished with the "Honours Priza". Cuenca has received many international competition awards, such as the "Andrés Segovia" in La Herradura (Almuñecar - Granada) and the Complutense University in Madrid, France. He also stood out as an excellent soloist with Orchestras such as the RTVE Symphony, "Reina Sofía" Chamber Orchestra, Odesa Symphonyc Orchestra (Ucrania), London Concerted Vivaldi Orchestra, North Carolina Symphony Orchestra (USA) and Caracas Symphonic (Venezuela).

As duo they have developed a vast artistic career in Spain, Belgium, Germany, Cuba, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Slovac Republic, France, United States, Venezuela, Ucrania, Denmark, Turkey, Italy, Sweden, Lebanon, Syria, Portugal, Switzerland, Philipines and Japan. They have performied in prestigious auditoriums such as Carnegie Hall in New York, The National Auditorium in Spain, The Hacettpe and M.E.T.U. Auditoriums in Ankara (Turkey), The Andrés Segovia House Museum Auditorium in Linares on its opening night, at The Music Palace (Valencia- Spain) and at The Guitar Palace (Japan).  

Their five records, which is mostly Spanish music, are edited and distributed by "Dial Discos" S.A. in Madrid. They also have a video recorded live at The Guitar Palace in Japan, directed by Mr. Koichi Hosokawa.
