Venue: Jonsson Performance Hall
Admission: Free
Season: 2013-14

One of the most passionate, vital, and thoughtful poetries of Europe is that of Hungary.  It is also one of the least well-known. To explore the work of the great Hungarian poets is to encounter mind-expanding discoveries, outrageous comedy, searing tragedy, strange beauty.  This reading, by two prizewinning translators on our faculty, will introduce the audience to a new-old world of experience, in English verse translations that capture the cadence, meter, rhyme and rhythm of the originals.
