Readers Theatre: Christina The Girl King

Tuesday, November 17, 2015, 8:00 p.m.
Venue: JO 2.604
Admission: Free
Season: 2015-16

Experience a fully costumed reading of Christina The Girl King.

The Reader's Theatre at UTD will be reading from Linda Gaborieau's translation of Marc Bouchard's play Christine, La reine-garçon [Christina, The Girl King]. The play has also recently been made into a movie that is currently making the film festival rounds. We will have a reception prior to the reading beginning at 7 pm and the reading will begin at 8 pm in Jonsson Performance Hall.

“Christina of Sweden is fascinating because she is so modern. An enigmatic queen, flamboyant and unpredictable, a woman eager for knowledge, a tomboy, a feminist before her time, she wreaked havoc throughout northern Europe in the middle of the 17th century”.…

This play contains adult subject matter and references subject matter that may not be understood or appropriate for audiences under the age of 17.
