March 2:

Los Angeles Guitar Quartet: University Theatre, 8:00 p.m., $25.
The Grammy-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet—"a formidable ensemble, both in terms of technical bravura and musical personality" (Baltimore Sun)—returns to UT Dallas. LAGQ is among the most praised guitar ensembles in the world. Their programs combine music from Latin, African, Irish and American Classics including critically acclaimed transcriptions of classical works.

March 3:

Youth Competition: AH1 1.106 and AH1 1.104, 9:00 a.m.
Participants from 11 to 18 years old compete. This competition is open for attendence by family and teachers only.

International Concert Guitar Competition Finals: University Theatre, 4:00 p.m., Free.
This unique competition, designed to showcase outstanding classical guitarists, will award cash prizes to the winners.

Update 3/1/18: In playing order, the finalists are Dan Kyzer, Bernardino Rodriguez, Hector Rodriguez, Nicolas Emilfork Diaz!

Zaira Meneses: University Theatre, 7:15 p.m., Free.
Praised by the New York Times as "an arresting performer full of colorful touches," Meneses has performed as a soloist and with ensembles or orchestras since the age of 12. She is the founder and director of the Guitar & Friends Concert Series in Boston.
