Legendary bassist Gary Karr has performed world-wide with notable orchestras and musicians from Leonard Bernstein to Stevie Wonder. Time magazine has proclaimed him “the world’s leading solo bassist.”   Assisting artists will be pianist Harmon Lewis, his long-time collaborator, plus bassist Daniel Nix; pianist Mikhail Berestnev; and actress Mary-Margaret Pyeatt. The program will feature the world premiere of Romance With a Double Bass by Robert Xavier Rodriguez, commissioned by Gary Karr, and works by Händel, Grieg, Vaughn Williams, Paganini and Bottesini.
