March 7:

Nicolas Emilfork Diaz: University Theatre, 7:30 p.m., Free
Winner of the 17th Annual Guitar Competition, Nicolas Emilfork Diaz has won prizes at competitions from the United States to Spain.

March 8:

Duo Melis: University Theatre, 7:30 p.m., $15
San Francisco Classical Voice described the “sensitive musicianship, virtuosic panache and stylistic performance” of Susana Prieto of Spain and Alexis Murakis of Greece.  Duo Melis has performed in such prestigious halls as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Berliner Philharmoniker and Merkin Concert Hall in New York City.

March 9:

Youth Competition: AH1 1.106 and AH1 1.104, 9:00 a.m.
Participants from 11 to 18 years old compete. This competition is open for attendence by family and teachers only.

International Concert Guitar Competition Finals: University Theatre, 4:00 p.m., Free
This unique competition, designed to showcase outstanding classical guitarists, will award cash prizes to the winners.

Update 3/7/19... in playing order, the finalists are Ariel Alba, Brendon Grabowski, Chris Unzicker, and Mengya Tian!

Scott Tennant: University Theatre, 7:30 p.m., $20
A founding member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, the brilliant Scott Tennant makes his UT Dallas debut as a soloist by presenting “guitarrada” in which fine and rare guitars are displayed and heard in performance.
