March 5:

Laureate Concert (Mengya Tian): Thursday, March 5, 7:30 p.m., University Theatre, Free
The winner of the 18th Annual Guitar Competition, Mengya Tian has studied guitar since the age of seven and has won prizes throughout China and in the United States.

March 6:

International Concert Guitar Competition Finals: Friday, March 6, 7:30 p.m., University Theatre, Free
This unique competition, designed to showcase outstanding classical guitarists, will award cash prizes to the winners.

In playing order, the finalists are Kyle Khembunjong, Ivan Petricevic, Samuel Hines, Anthony Mariano.

March 7:

Youth Competition: Saturday, March 7
Participants from 11 to 18 years old compete. This competition is open to view to family and teachers only.

Nuclear Okra: Saturday, March 7, 4:00 p.m., University Theatre, Free
Miranda Arana (flute) and Larry Hammett (guitar). An eclectic program combining classical, jazz and flamenco styles. Arana and Hammett are both professors at the School of Music of the University of Oklahoma.

Carlos Barbosa Lima & Awards Ceremony: Saturday, March 7, 7:30 p.m., University Theatre, $15
Awards ceremony for winners followed by Brazilian master Carlos Barbosa Lima who has over 55 recordings throughout his illustrious career. Lima’s program will feature works from his latest CD “Delicado.”
