Brettell Award Lecture: "The International Museum of the Baroque in Puebla, Mexico"

Join us in celebrating the 2019 Richard Brettell Award in the Arts recipient Ambassador Jorge Alberto Lozoya. Ambassador Lozoya will be giving a public lecture titled “The International Museum of the Baroque in Puebla, Mexico” concerning art, the economics of trade and the global baroque. Lozoya has distinguished himself as a career diplomat, international scholar and creator of eleven new museums in Puebla, Mexico. His array of experiences has afforded him a worldly and wise perspective on art, and a unique global view of human relations.

The Richard Brettell Award in the Arts at UT Dallas, established in 2016 with an endowment from Mrs. Eugene McDermott, recognizes the essential and fundamental role in the arts in the life of the university. The award honors an artist working in or between any of the broad spectrum of artistic endeavors, including the visual arts, music, literature, performance, and architecture/design.
