Transforming Curatorial Practices for the Evolving Global Museum: The British Museum’s Albukhary Foundation Gallery of the Islamic World

This talk will explore the making of the British Museum’s Albukhary Foundation Gallery from a curatorial perspective to show how its reconceived narrative – which makes the gallery accessible to all, regardless of any preexisting familiarity with Islam or cultures within the Islamic world – reflects an important epistemic shift in the concept of museum display today.
