Virtual Book Launch: Dr. Kimberly Hill's "A Higher Mission"

Join us for a conversation about the Dr. Kimberly Hill's new book A Higher Mission. A Higher Mission explains the transnational influence of American historically black colleges and universities through the careers of alumni who became Presbyterian missionaries to the Belgian Congo. The book is part of the New Directions in Southern History series, and it is available through the University Press of Kentucky and the UTD Libraries website. Kimberly Hill will read an excerpt from A Higher Mission. Pastor John Guthrie of the First Presbyterian Church of Roswell, NM (UTD Ph.D. Physics, 1989) will moderate the conversation about the religious and social significance of African American leadership.
