I am a part time professor in the Theatre program, and teach acting and the core art class Understanding Theatre. I also direct mainstage shows: UTD audiences have seen my work in subUrbia, Book of Days, and Mud.
I believe strongly in practicing what I teach, and consider my cofounding of the acclaimed Dallas experimental theatre company Dead White Zombies with UTD Theatre Professor Thomas Riccio a primary outlet for my theatre practice. I have co-created and performed in the eight Zombies works to date; Zombies shows challenge traditional concepts of narrative expression, and our audiences never know what kind of experience our next production will bring. I've also performed recently at Water Tower Theatre, and I am collaborating with a group of local theatre artists on a new entity focused on workshopping and producing new plays... more on that soon!
My students are my saving grace in an always busy, sometimes unforgiving world. They come to my classes ready and eager to learn, not only about theatre and acting, but about how to navigate life. I teach them, but they also teach me.
I've performed at Water Tower Theatre, the Dallas Theater Center (under Adrian Hall), Cara Mia Theatre Co., Dallas Shakespeare Festival, Deep Ellum Theatre Garage, and San Antonio Shakespeare; and in Los Angeles with Sacred Fools Theatre, The Attic Theatre, and Company of Angels. While in LA, I worked behind the camera on multiple films and TV shows, and wrote, produced, and directed the children's television pilot Club Oak Kids. I spent my last 4 years in the city of Angels as a writer/producer for Fox Television's On-Air Promotions.
