Daniel Moss AKA Danny Moss AKA Dan Moss. The older I get the shorter my name is becoming. Currently, my family and I live at Whiterock Lake in Dallas. We enjoy spending time there with our four-legged daughter Bailey.
In 1989, I received my MA from UT Tyler, and I have been teaching COMM for almost 30 years.
During 2014, I served on an ad hoc committee of TSCA, TX Speech Communication Association, to compose a Whitepaper to advocate for the inclusion of 3 hours Speech Communication with the Core Curriculum. This paper is available on the organization's webpage www.etsca.com.
During my almost 30 years in the classroom, I have found out a great deal about the learning patterns of students. Although the methods I use to reach students have changed over time, the fundamental principles which enable me to be successful have remained constant. I sincerely believe that, although all students want to learn and are capable of learning, they do not always learn in the same way or on the same day. As an instructional leader it is my responsibility to cultivate trust in students, to exhibit competency in the classroom, and to continue to grow as an educator through life-long enrichment. I strive to foster dynamic learning methods to aid students in their quest for academic, personal, and professional growth.
My current work and educational experience include...
Professor Of Speech Communication Studies, Northeast Texas Community College, 1999-present.
Sabbatical leave 2005-2006 to study in Wurzburg Germany, Univ. of North Texas and Univ. of Houston.
Instructor, Kilgore College; Tyler Junior College; Lone Star College; Tarrant County College; Houston Community College; and UT Tyler.
Bookseller, Borders Books & Music, Kailua-Kona & Waldenbooks, Honolulu Hawai'i; Longview, Texas.
