Alumni Involvement

As a student, did you ever wonder what life AFTER graduation would be like? Whether you were a commuter, a graduate student, a full-time on-campus resident, or working on your doctorate, you were probably so busy working toward your degree that your post-graduation UTD involvement was not at the forefront of your thoughts.

However, now that you are a UTD alumnus, we hope you will take the time to consider how you want to continue your involvement with your Alma Mater. There are several ways in which to get involved, which require varying levels of commitment and time.

Some opportunities to reconnect include:

  • Attend alumni events, such as Thirsty Thursdays or Networking Receptions.

  • Send your children to UTD.

  • Serve on an Alumni Council committee.

  • Donate funds to your favorite UTD project or scholarship.

  • Attend Alumni Weekend and the Alumni Achievement Awards Dinner.

  • Nominate an alumnus to receive a Distinguished Alumnus Award or the Green and Orange Award.

  • Display your framed diploma at your office.

  • Place a UTD Alumnus decal or license plate frame on your car.

  • Wear a UTD lapel pin to work.

  • Hire UTD students and alumni at your place of business.

  • Serve as a career mentor through Career Services.

  • Support UTD athletics, the art and cultural programs, the library, etc.

What is most important is that you recognize that as an alumnus it is up to you to continue and enhance the reputation of UTD and protect the value of your degree. It takes all alumni working together to share the wonderful story of UTD.
