The District Attorney's Role in Criminal Justice Reform
March 4, 2009 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Davidson Auditorium, School of Management Room 1.118, UT Dallas
Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins has to-date released 19 wrongfully charged prisoners. Come hear one of our country’s most talked about District Attorneys tell you his story and views. Also joining Mr. Watkins for questions and answers will be two of those exonerated through DNA evidence.

UT Dallas Spring 2009 Career Expo
March 5, 2009 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Activity Center, UT Dallas

This Expo offers internships and co-ops, full-time and part-time employment opportunities, as well as general career information from all industry sectors.

Professional business attire is required. Entrance to the Career Expo will be monitored by the Career Center staff.

A UT Dallas Alumni ID card or Comet Card is required. This Expo is not open to the public.

Film Screening: Trail of Tears
March 10, 2009 from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Davidson Auditorium, School of Management Room 1.118, UT Dallas
The School of Arts & Humanities and WGBH (PBS, Boston) co-sponsor the premiere of “Trail of Tears,” a new look at the United States governments’ forced removal of thousands of Cherokee from their homes in the Southeastern United States, driving them toward Indian Territory in Eastern Oklahoma in 1838.

Dr. R. David Edmunds and Anne and Chester Watson, who served as series advisors to We Shall Remain, will participate in the panel discussion following the film screening. Tickets are free. Seating is first come, first served.

Teacher Career Expo
March 11, 2009 from 1-3 p.m.
Student Union Galaxy Rooms, UT Dallas

An opportunity to meet and possibly interview with representatives from K-12 schools in the DFW area and around the state. The event is primarily designed for students involved in the Teacher Certification Program at UT Dallas; however, it is also open to all UT Dallas students and alumni interested in pursuing careers in education.

Public Agency Career Expo
March 25, 2009 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Student Union Galaxy Rooms, UT Dallas

This event offers UT Dallas students and alumni an opportunity to interact with employers from municipalities, non-profit organizations, as well as city, state, and federal government offices about possible internships, full-time and part-time positions, as well as volunteer opportunities.

Center for Children and Families Lecture Series: Helping Children to Succeed

School of Management Scholarship Breakfast
April 8, 2009 from 7:30-9 a.m.
The Westin Galleria

The School of Management will host an inaugural scholarship breakfast on April 8, featuring guest speakers Gary Kelly, CEO and Chairman of Southwest Airlines; and Dan Sanders, CEO of United Supermarkets, which owns Market Street.

The School of Management plans to make this event an annual tradition with two missions: to offer a forum for discussing relevant business issues and to support the educational goals of the school’s students, the next generation of business leaders.
