Alumni Breakfast with the President and Deans

On Saturday, Nov. 20, enjoy a full day of homecoming fun with fellow alumni. The day starts with an exclusive alumni breakfast with President David E. Daniel and deans of the UT Dallas Schools. Come early to get a seat next to your school’s dean! During the breakfast, guests will hear updates about the changes at UT Dallas and plans for the future. Free.

Comets Care! Blood Drive to Support Carter BloodCare

Throughout the day, alumni and their guests are encouraged to stop by the Comets Care! Blood Drive.
UT Dallas has partnered with Carter BloodCare to provide a mobile blood center. Carter BloodCare is the primary provider of blood components and transfusion services for approximately 300 Texas health care facilities, including many of the region’s children’s hospitals, central trauma centers, major cancer centers and transplant centers. Come out and help UT Dallas give back to the community!

Professional Career Speaker, Don Asher

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is proud to bring to campus Don Asher, internationally acclaimed author and speaker specializing in professional development and higher education. He is the author of 10 books, including Who Gets Promoted, Who Doesn’t, and Why: 10 Things You’d Better Do If You Want to Get Ahead, on which his talk is based. A copy of the book will be provided to each event attendee. Asher is also a contributing writer to The Wall Street Journal online edition, CareerJournal.com and CollegeJournal.com. He is the education columnist for MSN Encarta and is the career columnist for US Airways Magazine. Asher will provide realistic career advice and his program will be followed by a short question and answer session. Guests are invited for an open house of the new UT Dallas Career Center, located in the new Student Services Building. Sign up early to reserve your seat at this exciting seminar! $15 per person.

Homecoming Tailgate Party

Connect with alumni, students, and the whole UT Dallas community at the annual homecoming tailgate party! Alumni and their guests are invited to the alumni tent for a delicious assortment of tailgate favorite food and drinks. Alumni receive a free gift and a chance to win UT Dallas spirit items. After the party, head over to the activity center to watch the homecoming basketball games. Tailgate event is free.

2009 Class Gift Dedication
The Class of 2009 tree, located off of University Parkway

12:30–1 p.m.
All UT Dallas alumni, especially members of the class of 2009, are invited to the dedication of the class gift. In honor of the campus enhancements, the class of 2009 collectively donated a bur oak tree to the campus. The tree is located off University Parkway between the Activity Center and the School of Management Building at the formal entrance of the University, near the new traffic circle. Event is free.

Men’s and Women’s Basketball Games

Tickets to the basketball games are $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free for children under six years old. Tickets may be purchased at the games.

Casino Night and Homecoming Dance

8 p.m.–Midnight
UT Dallas alumni and their guests are invited to attend the annual casino night and homecoming dance, hosted by Student Life. Play the night away at the casino tables or join the students on the dance floor. Don’t miss out on this UT Dallas tradition! Admission is $15 per person.
