The lecture series — hosted by UT Dallas' Arts and Technology program — explores the evolving relationships among art, technology, engineering and behavioral and social sciences.

Tony and Jonna Mendez are former CIA officers whose lives have been featured in books, television documentaries and the Oscar-winning film Argo. Tony Mendez engineered the 1980 rescue of six U.S. diplomats from Iran in a daring operation that inspired the movie. Jonna Mendez worked in the agency and specialized in clandestine photography.

Lectures are held in the Edith O'Donnell Arts and Technology Building, Lecture Hall.

"Lessons from the Oldest Old: The 90+ Study"

"Lessons from the Oldest Old: The 90+ Study" will be presented by Dr. Claudia Kawas, a geriatric neurologist and researcher at the University of California, Irvine. Kawas' most recent work has focused on the cognitive and functional abilities of the oldest old. She is the primary investigator of The 90+ Study, which was featured in a special episode of the CBS News program 60 Minutes last year.

Admission is free, but registration is required.
