Merrill Matthews PhD'89 has recently written articles exploring public policy and politics for He is a resident scholar with the Institute for Policy Innovation, a research think tank in Dallas. Merrill was president of the Health Economics Roundtable for the National Association for Business Economics and serves as vice chairman of the Texas Advisory Committee of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

Merrill earned his doctorate in humanities at UT Dallas.

Melissa Merritt-Darden BA'06 was promoted to vice president of Associa Carolinas, a community management company in Charlotte, N.C. She also serves on the board of directors for the Community Associations Institute (CAI) association of professional community managers and will chair the steering committee for the 2016 annual CAI conference in North Carolina.

Melissa earned her bachelor's in literary studies at UT Dallas.

Eric M. Damewood BS'86 was promoted to executive vice president at Elevate Recoveries, a health care collections company in Plano. With more than 12 years of experience in the health care receivables industry, Eric oversees marketing, sales and client relations. He also served as a noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Army for nine years.

Eric earned his bachelor's in business administration at UT Dallas.
