Biography

Donna Ewing has been providing developmental services to infants and toddlers with special needs for over eight years. Her focus has been coaching parents and empowering them with the tools and resources needed to care for their children with developmental delays. As assistant program director at the Warren Center for Children with Developmental Differences she worked with the field staff of certified therapists providing supervision, training and professional development. The position as assistant director included serving as mentor and supervisor to practicum and internship masters and bachelors students who were pursuing studies to become Speech and Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Developmental Specialists. In the role as Senior Lecturer/Clinical Supervisor she will continue to prepare students academically and clinically, balancing classroom learning with hands on supervised field experience. The focus is to incorporate family dynamics and family empowerment into the assessment and intervention process. Course objectives guide students toward integrating the child's strengths and needs across developmental domains into a comprehensive intervention approach.
