Biography

Dr. Emily Touchstone teaches child development, language disorders in children, and language and literacy development courses to undergraduate students who are studying psychological sciences and communication sciences and disorders. She also teaches graduate classes in the human development and communication sciences program, as well as the communication disorders program. In addition, Dr. Touchstone supervises graduate students who are completing research or working on independent studies. Her research interests include developmental perspectives on social cognition, language and literacy. A licensed speech-language pathologist, Dr. Touchstone earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her master’s and doctoral degrees from UT Dallas.
