The Sally Ride Festival, Seeking Volunteers, School of Natural Sciences & Math

10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Location: Entire Mall and Clark Center lobby

Description: Sally Ride Science Festivals are designed to encourage 5th-8th grade girls in science.  Advance registration is required and is $20 (includes the featured talk, workshops, lunch, and the Street Fair). We are looking for volunteers 18 and older. Please see details at the bottom.

The festival features:  

  • An inspiring talk by a featured speaker Discovery Workshops for 5th-8th grade girls, given by local scientists and engineers (examples include chemists, veterinarians, microbiologists, and others)  
  • Workshops for parents and teachers on ways to support students' interests in science and math
  • A Street Fair with booths, hands-on activities, food, and music

The School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics is looking for volunteers 18 and older for this event at the following time frames:


  • 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • 1:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
  • Both of the above
