Sixth Annual UT Dallas Project Management Symposium

"Project Management in a Risky World" is the focus of this annual gathering of more than 300 project management professionals, who will share their ideas and best practices across a range of industries, including construction, healthcare and information technology.

UT Dallas President David E. Daniel will deliver a keynote address on "The Gulf Oil Spill: Lessons Learned." Dr. Daniel was appointed to a committee that studied the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Other keynoters include:

Robert Rausch,  Director of the Dell Services Health Care and Life Sciences (HCLS) PMO;

Mark Penny, lead project manager for the George W. Bush Presidential Center; and

Dr. Lewis Gedansky
, a vice president of the Project Management Institute and executive  director of the PMI Educational Foundation.

Topics include:

  • how to manage green and sustainable projects
  • how to effectively and economically terminate projects
  •  managing virtual teams
  • project risk management.

The conference is sponsored by the Graduate Program in Project Management at The University of Texas at Dallas, in cooperation with the PMI Dallas Chapter and PM World Today. The 2-Day Project Management Symposium will focus on topics relevant to organizations, industries and the economy in North Texas.
