A concert presented by Sino-Rhythm (Huayun) Orchestra of the Confucius Institute at UT Dallas. Comprising four chapters corresponding to the four seasons, this concert highlights the most distinctive features of Chinese folk music and will offer an opportunity to encounter aspects of Chinese culture through music. Formed by the Confucius Institute at UT Dallas to promote Sino-American cultural exchanges, Sino-Rhythm (Huayun) Orchestra is the most prominent Chinese music group in the DFW area. Affiliated to and supported by UT Dallas since its establishment in 2010, the orchestra has performed in various venues including the Crow Collection of Asian Art and Plano Asian American Heritage Festival. Sino-Rhythm Orchestra performed the Song of Cathay for UT Dallas Confucius Institute Day celebrations in September 2014 and co-hosted a Chinese music gala in Houston in early 2015.
