We all want to be understood. But when the reason we are not understood is how the words are being said rather than what the words are, the obstacles are greater. To help overcome those obstacles, Vulintus engineers decided to bring visuals to this audio challenge. The result is Opti-Speech, a tool created in partnership with the Callier Center for Communication Disorders.
This speech therapy tool lets researchers and speech language pathologists see the tongue's motion in real-time and study the effects of visual feedback on speech production. In other words, therapists can see exactly how a patient is making sounds which makes it easier to guide their patents to smoother communication. Learn how this idea came about and how Opti-Speech will help in the treatment of speech disorders.
