Description: Important Changes are Coming in Our Performance Appraisal
University policy (UTDPB3091) specifies that “appraisals will be completed for those who are employed during the review period in any capacity or classification (e.g. classified, wage, temporary, or in a regular budgeted position) at any FTE for 4.5 months or greater.” Appraisals for Faculty and Teaching Assistants will be completed in accordance with the UTD Faculty Annual Review policy.
The annual appraisal for UTD staff must be conducted within the first quarter of each calendar year (from January 1 to March 31). An appraisal is not required if an employee is within their probationary period during this time frame. The probationary review must be completed at the end of the probationary period. The original copy of the appraisal is due to Office of Human Resources by the 5th working day of April, which in this review cycle corresponds to Tuesday, April 7, 2016.
As has been the practice, the Office of Human Resources will be offering calibration and training sessions for supervisors. This year these sessions will focus on, not only strategies and best practices to help supervisors and managers conduct the reviews, but some very significant changes taking place. Our ultimate aim is to help our employees succeed. If you are a new supervisor at the University or this will be your first time to conduct performance reviews, you should plan on attending one of the scheduled training sessions before completing appraisals on those you supervise. All supervisors, however, are encouraged to attend one of the scheduled sessions.
Target Audience: Class is open to any UT Dallas staff or faculty responsible for conducting employee annual performance reviews.
You can register for this class by going to Galaxy and registering throught LEO!
