Academic Career Series: Publishing Your First Journal Article in the Humanities

Publishing your research in academic journals is one of the most important things you can do as a scholar. For those who have never published before, the process can seem very confusing. This workshop will introduce participants to the basic steps involved in publishing academic research in the Humanities. Participants will learn how to choose an appropriate journal, communicate with a journal’s editorial team, tailor a manuscript to a journal’s expectations, and respond to editorial decisions.

Light refreshments will be served. Registration is not required for this event. Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure a good seat.

About the Academic Career Series: Workshops in the Academic Career Series introduce graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to the parts of academic job applications. These workshops are intended for individuals who intend to enter the job market to become a professor in the near future.
