Right on Time? JFK, LBJ & African American Memories of the Civil Rights Movement
Tuesday, Jan 9
7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Location: Northside Drafthouse (3000 Northside Blvd. Suite 800, Richardson, TX 75080

Some have argued that President John Kennedy squandered two years before taking action on civil rights issues. By contrast, others suggest that President Lyndon Johnson’s decisive approach made him the nation’s "best civil rights president." So why are these leaders' civil rights legacies remembered so differently in the African American community? Sharron Wilkins Conrad examines how memory and perceptions of moral leadership continue to shape this debate.
