The Center for BrainHealth invites scientists to share their scientific study with students and other researchers at the BrainHealth Frontiers Lunch Lectures. The lectures are heavily science focused and are not intended for a lay audience. All lectures are held at the Center for BrainHealth, 2200 West Mockingbird Lane, in the International Reception Hall.

Timothea Toulopoulou, PhD
Topic is - Cognitive Intermediate Phenotypes and Genetic Risk for Schizophrenia
Dr. Timothea Toulopoulou was awarded the Chair of the Psychology Department at Bilkent University in September 2015. She earned her Ph.D., under the supervision of Prof Sir Robin Murray and Prof Robin Morris, at the University of London in 2001. She completed most of her postgraduate training, and her early working career at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, UK. In 2005 she received a two-year Young Investigator Award from the National Alliance of Research on Schizophrenia and Affective Disorders, USA, that she completed at Harvard Medical School, USA, and in 2011 she was awarded a one-year fellowship from the Chinese Academy of Sciences that she completed at the Institute of Psychology, Beijing, China. Dr. Toulopoulou was the lead scientist for the Genes and Cognition work package of the European Community’s 6th Framework Program, and was a partner in the European Community’s 7th Framework Program. She held grants or subcontracts from the Economic and Social Research Council (UK), Research Grants Council (HK), and the National Institutes of Health (USA). She reviews regularly for numerous journals and is a consulting editor for ‘Clinical Psychological Science’. She also serves as a fellowship and grant reviewer for the Medical Research Council (MRC), UK and Wellcome Trust, UK among others. Finally, she was a panel member for the European Research Council’s (ERC) Advanced research grants and a Deputy Panel Chair for ERC’s Consolidator research grants.
