The Center for BrainHealth invites scientists to share their scientific study with students and other researchers at the BrainHealth Frontiers Lunch Lectures. The lectures are heavily science focused and are not intended for a lay audience. All lectures are held at the Center for BrainHealth, 2200 West Mockingbird Lane, in the International Reception Hall.

Topic is Essentials of Scientific Writing

Samarpita Sengupta, PhD, is the Scientific Research Writer in the Neuroscience Research Development (NeRD) Office at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is involved in all aspects of research development within the Department of Neurology, such as funding identification, idea generation, proposal development, document generation, grant submission to a funding agency. In addition, she contributes to the process of creation of manuscripts and their submission to peer-reviewed journals. She regularly conducts workshops and seminars on effective scientific writing principles, grant, and manuscript writing for faculty, students and fellows within the department. She received her PhD in Cell Regulation in 2012 from UT Southwestern Medical Center. She has contributed articles to several blogs and newsletters. She has also volunteered her time with the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) and currently serves as a liaison between NPA and the National Association of Research Development Professionals (NORDP).
