Description: In the precursor class, we defined emotional intelligence as the “ability to recognize and understand emotions and your skill at using this awareness to manage yourself and your relationships with others.” In this follow-up class, we will be focusing on the first part of this definition—self-awareness. For this session you will learn what effective self-awareness looks like and certain skills you can use to increase your self-awareness.
- Be able to identify and explain what effective self-awareness looks like.
- Learn ways of recognizing your emotional states as they occur.
- Identify certain patterns and skills that can positively and negatively affect self-awareness.
- Develop a personal action and accountability plan for improving your self-awareness skills.
Target Audience: This class is designed for all UTD employees.
